LOWFIN' Leyther John Eatock will summon up his broadest dialect on Saturday at a rip roaring Lancashire night of music and mirth at the Rope and Anchor pub in Atherton.
Tock, who ticks away merrily whether performing solo or as a member of the celebrated folk group Five Penny Piece, will be on top form at the event which will raise funds to help combat cot death syndrome.
Dialect favourites like "Ee ba gum bur am cowd" will flow from raconteur John who offers a warm welcome to everyone at the Bolton Old Road pub.
He appeared with the Five Penny Piece on Sunday at a sell-out concert at Blackburn where a guest was radio presenter and former Houghton Weaver Norman Prince. John admits he was overcome with pride when a Five Penny Piece fan told the group they were "better than ever" after he joined them. Guess what the group's new album is called?
Although he appears regularly with the recording and TV stars John, from Etherstone Street, still enjoys performing solo.
He says with a grin: "Am 'appy onnyweer, so long us thi let mi Lancashire Tripe Heynd in......I've getten a special dispensayshun fer breedin' em at a secret location under t'rucks. Thi keep eyt russlers tha knows."
Admission to the Rope and Anchor session is free.
