NELSON hot shot Kiko Rodriguez has pledged his immediate future to the NWCL Division Two leaders.
The striker, who has scored 18 goals since his move from local football in October, was being chased by UniBond First Division side Ossett Town. But he will remain at Victoria Park until the end of the season.
"I'm really pleased he's staying. He has scored some crucial goals for us and we are delighted," said Blues boss John Bailey. "Obviously he wants to play at a higher level but hopefully he can do that with Nelson."
Goalkeeper Neil Canning has also been recognised for his performances. He has won the ICIS 'Safe Hands' award for February in Division Two. "He is an experienced keeper and he's been like a rock at the back. He deserves the award," added Bailey.
Nelson begin a 'crucial' three-game spell at home to Atherton LR tomorrow. They will play Tetley Walker and Warrington in the next two, both at home.
"They are crucial games to win," said Bailey.
