I AM looking to buy a property in Spain, and I have been amazed how low local taxes are there.
A similar property to my present one here is (including water) £75 per year. A studio apartment is £28. At present I am paying nearly £700 per year in this country.
I am sure that anyone who has been to Spain will know the services there are far superior to ours. The streets are clean, rubbish is removed every day (not every two weeks as on a bank holiday week here), there are parks, children's play areas, a strong police presence, and well maintained roads and footpaths. In fact, overall, services are ten times better than here.
Now that we are in the Common Market could we not get some of the Spanish councillors to come over here and show our lot how to manage.
