I WAS browsing, as usual, when I heard an old lady ask the assistant if she could leave something inside the shop door -- at the time I didn't know what it was.
She told the volunteer that last week she had had it stolen while on a trip out of town -- but had got it back after the police found it dumped in McDonald's. What was it? I thought it must be a bag, but when I looked it was a collapsable wheelchair. I couldn't believe my eyes. To steal such a thing is sinking to the lowest bounds of depravity. How could even the worst of youngsters be so heartless? Are people brought up these days with no consciences at all?
