BLACKBURN MP Jack Straw is to launch a new scheme which teams the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service with the Prince's Trust.
Through the trust's volunteer programme the initiative will mean the fire service will work directly with disaffected young people.
Lancashire chief fire officer Peter Holland said he hoped the scheme would change the attitudes and behaviour of some young people and help them make the most of their opportunities.
The partnership will be launched at Blackburn Fire Station, Byrom Street, on Friday.
