BURNLEY-based Sweet Dreams, the UK's fastest-growing bed manufacturer and distributor, has re-formed the management team that once made 'Layezee' a household name.
John Craig, the former sales director with Layezee and parent company Silentnight, has teamed up with Sweet Dreams' founders Stephen Boyd and Riaz Ahmed.
They first worked together in the 1980s when they were responsible for establishing Silentnight's Middle East operations and building the Layezee brand.
"We are delighted that John has joined us," said general manager Stephen Boyd.
"He is well known and respected in the industry and when we learned that his expertise was available it seemed too good an opportunity to pass up."
Since the company was established in 1988, Sweet Dreams has emerged as a leading bed manufacturer and supplier with a national network of more than 1,300 independent retail distributors.
Today, it is the only manufacturer in the UK to supply a full range of bed furniture products covering divan sets, pine and metal bed sets, futons and sofa beds.
Mr Craig, 58, said: "I am delighted to be working with Stephen and Riaz again.
"They have built a superb business and Sweet Dreams is ideally positioned to become a leading player in the market.
"I am looking forward to the challenge enormously."
Sweet Dreams is currently expanding into hotel and contract markets and is looking at export opportunities.
