A CHORLEY man, caught in a police drugs operation, has been jailed for 16 months.
Vann Johnstone, 24, of Mendip Road, Clayton-le-Woods, had pleaded guilty to one charge of being concerned in the supply of heroin and two of obtaining money by deception.
His arrest was part of a police operation called Trigger which targeted street level drug sellers in the Chorley and Leyland areas.
Defence barrister Mr Richard Hunt said Johnstone was not a drug pusher.
His offending had been at the bottom of the scale and he had been an addict making no profit at all.
Passing sentence at Preston Crown Court, the judge said heroin addiction caused enormous damage to people's lives and to the public.
