I WAS astounded to read the article (LET, March 10) about the apology to the Co-op. Just who does Great Harwood Area Council vice chairman Peter Clarke think he is?
He has the audacity to apologise because someone actually challenged the behaviour of the Co-op in reneging on their previous statements. I hope Mr Clarke does not think he is apologising for me.
He might be shocked to learn that County Councillor George Slynn's comments, for which he is apologising, were representative of the many people that I have spoken to in Great Harwood. So can Mr Clarke tell me who he is actually representing?
CHRIS REID, Lomax Street, Great Harwood.
