RESIDENTS of Radcliffe, can find out next week what the future may hold for the town.
On Tuesday April 3, beginning at 6pm in Radcliffe Civic Suite on Thomas Street, there will be an opportunity to take a look at the proposed updated Unitary Development Plan.
The UDP, as it is more commonly known, is widely regarded as the main blueprint for establishing planning policies which will be used to decide on future development, not just in Radcliffe, but right across the borough.
Radcliffe Area Board Chairman, Councillor Barry Briggs, said: "Creating the opportunities to attract new investment and jobs, identifying areas for housing development and how to protect remaining open spaces and countryside.
"These are just some of the many issues covered by the UDP. At this stage the council is very keen to encourage everyone who lives, works, runs a business or just visits the borough, and in our case Radcliffe, to find out more and make their comments known.
"We have arranged this meeting for next week and it will be an ideal opportunity to look at all the issues.
"The decisions taken now will impact on the future of Radcliffe, as it will on neighbouring towns. We hope as many people as possible will take advantage of this opportunity to help develop that future."
