THE journey from Geneva to Blackburn is as long as it is bizarre -- but that is the trip that has just been undertaken by the revolutionary Aston Martin Vanquish, one of the world's most expensive cars.
Fresh from its successful launch at the Geneva International Motor Show, the 200mph supercar was driven to the Shorrock Lane base of Brookhouse Automotive. The company manufactures body panels and other high-performance composite carbon fibre components for the stunning new car.
The visit to Blackburn gave the Brookhouse workforce a chance to see the finished product of their efforts to help manufacture one of the world's most expensive cars.
Brookhouse Automotive is part of Brookhouse Holdings which specialises in composites engineering. Its expertise has already been used in the manufacture of the carbon fibre body for the Jordan Formula 1 car and in the Thrust SCSC which went supersonic to break the world land speed record.
In the aerospace industry, Brookhouse is supplying the tooling for all composite components on the Eurofighter..
