UNEMPLOYED Suhal Laher took up the offer of a "delivery job" -- and ended up carrying heroin wraps.
He was caught out by police on a Blackburn street and jailed for 18 months when he appeared for sentence at Preston Crown Court.
Laher, 23, of Warrington Street, Blackburn, had pleaded guilty to possession of heroin with intent to supply.
John Bailey, prosecuting, said it was July 30 last year when police on mobile patrol in East Street noticed a parked Nissan vehicle.
Laher was the driver and he was speaking to a man, with an apparent deal going on.
The man, a known drug user, walked quickly away.
Twenty nine wraps were found in the car and they were shown to contain a total of 12.1 grammes of heroin.
Laher, who had no previous convictions, told police he had been preparing to deliver drugs for someone he would not name. He said he had been offered £200 to do so.
Philip Andrews, defending, said his client had fully co-operated with police when arrested and made a clean breast of matters.
He had acted, in any view, in a foolish and irresponsible way.
Laher came from a respectable background.
