THE manager of a store was forced at gun-point to open the safe and tills during an armed raid by a masked gang.
The gang struck at Halford's at about 4pm yesterday.
Five or six masked men entered the Rochdale Road store in Bury. One of the gunmen held a weapon to the manager's head and forced him to hand over cash from the tills and from a safe. An unknown quantity of cash was taken. The gang escaped in a metallic green Vauxhall Corsa which was found soon after in Alfred Street, Bury. The car had been stolen from the Harpurhey area on Monday. The gang then transferred into a silver coloured Audi car which had also been reported stolen. Anyone with information should contact Bury CID on 0161 856 8150.
