AN angry man attacked his girlfriend, throwing her across the room and causing facial injuries as the couple's terrified two-year-old looked on, a court heard.
Bury magistrates were told how an argument between Stuart Nuttall, 28, and his girlfriend, Lisa Titmus, deteriorated into violence.
After grabbing her by the throat, Nuttall was alleged to have said he would smash her head through a window. He threw Miss Titmus across the room and the force of the impact left her with a cut head which needed hospital treatment.
When he saw her bleeding, Nuttall appeared to relent but lost his temper again. He did not attack her but ripped a door off its hinges.
The police were called but as Miss Titmus waited for them to arrive Nuttall, who had left the house, returned and banged on the door. He was later arrested.
Nuttall, of Rake Street, Bury, pleaded guilty to assault. He was given 150 hours community service and ordered to pay court costs of £55.
