BURNLEY are to unveil their fourth new-look strip of the season when they take on Blackburn Rovers in a derby-special.

The Clarets have played all season without a sponsor's logo on the front of the first-team kit after failing to tie up a deal to suit their demands as a successor to P3 Computers.

But they will plug the gap for the televised clashes against Rovers and Preston and the seven remaining games after that by sporting the brand name of their own web site. "We have got a blank shirt and we just felt it was a great opportunity to market our web-site," confirmed chief executive Andrew Watson.

"From the web-site this year we could earn some thing like £400,000-£500,000. The average sponsorship deal in Division One is below £200,000 so the web is a significant part of our business.

"We just thought it was a wonderful way of marketing it for the rest of the season, particularly as we have got two massive television games coming up against Blackburn and Preston.

"The Blackburn game will probably have an audience of around one-million people and this is an opportunity to market to a worldwide audience."

Burnley have already worn three different strips this season after introducing new designs last summer.

As well as the first choice home and away kits, Stan Ternent's men wore a yellow and blue design for their 5-0 defeat Nottingham Forest last October.

However, that option hasn't seen light of day since and the shirts with the burnleyfootballclub.com branding won't be on sale to supporters with the Clarets still actively looking to sign up a sponsorship deal for next season.

They could become collectors' items, though, if Burnley win at Ewood Park on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Ian Cox will definitely play for Trinidad and Tobago in their World Cup qualifier in Costa Rica tonight.

The Clarets defender wasn't named in an 18-man squad published earlier this week but coach Ian Porterfield will use Cox as a sweeper as the Soca Warriors look for their point in the Concacaf World Cup qualifying group.

Cox played as a wing-back in his country's opening group defeat to Jamaica and then at right-back in a warm-up win over Guatemala at the weekend.

However, with Wrexham's Denis Lawrence pulling out of tonight's game with a rib injury Cox will slot into the centre of defence to help keep tabs on Costa Rica's Manchester City striker Paulo Wanchope.

Cox will then fly back via Miami straight after the game to rejoin Burnley's preparations for Sunday's derby showdown.

The Clarets reserves are away to Birmingham City tonight in an Avon Insurance League Premier Division clash. The game will be played at Hednesford Town FC, kick-off 7.15. Cox set to play in World Cup clash
