YOUNGSTERS at 12 primary schools across the Borough and students from St Helens College are waging a war on litter by joining in the nation-wide "Just Bin It" campaign.

Organised by the Tidy Britain group, the campaign involves the Council's Recycling Officers organising litter picking sessions in local schools and the college during which a selection of free goods will be handed out to pupils and students. All those taking part will be entered into a Borough wide competition. The campaign in St Helens runs until April 27.

These schools are taking part: Garswood Primary; St Mary's and St Thomas's; Thatto Heath Primary; Newton-le-Willows Primary; Windlehurst Community Primary; Richard Evans Primary, Haydock; Eccleston Lane Ends Primary, Merton Bank Primary; Sutton Manor Primary; Grange Valley Primary, Haydock; Hurst School; St Peter's C of E, Newton-le-Willows.
