A WOMAN whose miraculous recovery from secondary cancer of the liver was highlighted in the Star is now giving hope to another sufferer.
Alison Clarkson was devastated when she was first diagnosed with the potentitally life-threatening disease.
But the 25-year-old, who has been married for less than six months, has been given fresh hope after reading in the St Helens Star of how Michelle Hampson-Hague from Garswood has beaten the illness.
Alison's husband Paul contacted the Star to ask if they could be put in touch with Michelle to talk to her about the challenges in fighting the disease.
And after speaking to the couple over the phone, Michelle visited Alison at her parents Jack and Olive's home, in Hardshaw Street, St Helens where she is staying until she has completed her treatment.
Alison, who is currently undergoing tests to discover the source of the original cancer, says that Michelle's advice and encouragement have been a great help and inspiration to her.
She said: "I feel so much better about everything now. Michelle has given me so much information on where we can get help and she has been really supportive".
MICHELLE has asked the Star to convey her thanks to Mike Riley from Tyresave in St Helens for his generous £100 contribution to the charity evening which she organised at Birchley St Mary's Club in aid of Clatterbridge Hospital.
