BLACKBURN Lions Club has launched a new advertising campaign on the town's buses in a bid to raise its profile.
The charity has distributed more than £18,000 to local good causes in the last year, including £5,000 to the children's hospice Derian House, and many individual donations to people and families unable to get help from elsewhere. Last Christmas, members delivered 350 food parcels to the needy around Blackburn, and they also send under-privileged children on holidays. But public relations officer Alan Kenyon said many people remained unaware of the organisation and its work.
