I READ with interest the comments of Michael Carr, the Liberal Democrat candidate for Ribble Valley (Letters, March 7) when he stated that a vote for Labour there is a vote wasted. Well, to my mind, a vote for the Lib-Dems is a wasted vote anywhere in the country.

The ideal representation of Lib-Dems on any body is three -- one to vote for, one to vote against, and the other to abstain.

Only recently, Charles Kennedy said that the Lib-Dems would pick up 60 seats from Labour and 110 from the Tories. It would appear he is living on Fantasy Island.
