A DISPUTE between neighbours erupted into violence, a court was told.
William Bradley, 54, was upset when he was woken in the early hours by a knocking on his door.
Adam Foster, 21, began to pour snow through the letter box and then forced open the door.
Magistrates at Bury heard that when Mr Bradley remonstrated with Foster he was dragged out into the garden, wearing only his dressing gown and slippers.
Mr Bradley was pushed heavily to the ground and suffered a number of injuries which, although minor, required hospital treatment.
In court Foster, who only moved into his Hornby Street property in Bury last year, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and damaging Mr Bradley's dressing gown.
Foster was given 100 hours community service, ordered to pay £200 compensation to his victim and a further £50 for damage to the dressing gown. There were also court costs of £60.
