PLANS to upgrade the floodlights at Darwen Football Club have been put on hold due to a backlog of fixtures.
Work on the lights was hoped to be finished by the end of March but club bosses said they have had to postpone it until the end of the season.
The upgrading was made possible after grants from the Sports Trust and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.
Kath Marah, chair of the club, said: "We wanted to complete the upgrading at the end of the month but with our backlog of fixtures we have had to postpone it until the end of the season.
"This shows the club's commitment to the future.
"We want to ensure that we develop facilities that will allow the club to grow and having good class floodlights is essential to do this."
