CRIMEFIGHTERS in East Lancashire are to get a share of a new £60million cash fund to tackle crime and disorder.
The money, which will be spread over the next three years, will go to support a variety of initiatives including improving information sharing between different crime fighting groups, analysing crime data and spreading good practice.
The North West region is in line for £1.97million share.
The amount will be decided by the region's Crime Reduction Director and will go to Crime Reduction Partnership's in the region.
The CRPs were set up in 1998 and comprise the police, local authorities, the probation service, health authority, the voluntary sector, business and residents.
