SINGER Robert Birnie did it his way when when he took to the stage in front of a pub full of onlookers.
A lifelong Frank Sinatra fan, Robert, 37, of Sough Lane, Blackburn, donned the complete make-up and '60s costume for a tribute night at the Wharf Inn, Blackburn.
Robert, who works in the textile industry, has been singing for 10 years and is hoping his voice will lead him to bigger and better things.
"I've liked Sinatra since I was a kid and I've got all his songs," he said.
"It gives me a real buzz getting up in front of all those people but my practice must have been spot on before I can get up.
"So far I've had a lot of good feedback. You've got to do what you're good at and if I can get some work out of it that's the main thing."
