ONCE again, another part of Mother Nature's land is to be replaced with a housing estate (LET, March 26).
Some people say the one at Haslingden Road, Blackburn, should not be built because it would be next to Fishmoor Reservoir and would be a danger to kids, but I don't think the estate should be built because we are putting the entire country at risk.
The countryside soaks up the rain which slowly works its way to the rivers then out to sea. But as we build more estates, the rain landing on them goes straight down the drains and straight out to sea.
Because more rain gets out to sea a lot quicker that is why rainfall is increasing, not just here, but all over the world.
