A TOP police boss is to be investigated following alleged "irregularities" concerning expense claims.
Mr Barry Newton, the director of administration at Greater Manchester Police, was suspended from his duties on March 20 following consideration of a preliminary report into the allegations.
The matter will now be referred to an investigating committee where Mr Newton, who comes from the south of England, will be given the opportunity to answer the allegations.
A date for the hearing has not been set.
