ONE man and his dog are on the trail of big money after a sniff at Lottery success.
George O'Neill, of Eastham Avenue, Bury has taught his blue Bedlington terrier Bobby a whole new ball game.
Instead of choosing numbers for the Wednesday draw himself, George (78) gives Bobby a bag of numbered ping-pong balls to pick out the numbers for two tickets.
Bobby has already won the £10 prize five times since he started, and optimistic George thinks that's just the start:
"He'll win big money I'm sure of it. He'll get at least four or five right one of these days," said George, pictured with his pet pooch.
The three-year old dog is George's second lucky-dip pooch. He previously owned a Jack Russell who managed to pick out four numbers successfully.
And a flutter on the lottery is not the only human activity Bobby is fond of, said George.
"He drinks tea out of a saucer in the kitchen and when he's finished comes into the front room for refills. If you give him a drop of sherry, he'll do it all day."
