MIDFIELD dynamo David Dunn today declared himself ready and raring to go ahead of Sunday's big derby date with Burnley after successfully recovering from a toe injury.

The 21-year-old midfield star was forced to pull out of England's Under 21 internationals with Finland and Albania after the problem flared up a fortnight ago.

But the Great Harwood-born youngster is now fit to return after using Rovers' seven day break in Dubai to get some much-needed rest.

And he's relishing the prospect of locking horns with the Clarets again following Rovers' 2-0 victory at Turf Moor back in December.

"It's still a bit sore but I've been able to train over the last few days and I should be okay," said Dunn.

"I don't think it's totally cleared up yet but I can get through a game.

"It was bugging me more than anything before we went away because I could feel it every time I kicked the ball.

"But it's feeling quite a bit better now and I can't wait for Sunday."

With Dunn now ready to return, manager Graeme Souness today reported a clean bill of health after all Rovers' international players came through Wednesday night's games unscathed.

And the Rovers boss is looking forward to having Dunn back to near his best after feeling the injury had started to affect his performance levels.

"I think Dunny has been a bit off the boil because of his injury," said Souness.

"I think the problem was affecting him more than he was letting on at the time which is typical of him so, hopefully, we'll have the real David Dunn back on Sunday."
