PRESTON College's new Ju-Jitsu sessions are proving to be a real hit with youngsters across the area.
It is the first year sessions have been run at the college's Sports Centre in Fulwood and the group now attracts dozens of dedicated children.
Instructor Phil Harrison, who runs his own Ju-Jitsu company called RA Defence, said: "RA Defence has many clubs in the region.
"We also have a club at Strettles Bar in Preston, and rather than conflict with the sessions at Preston College, many people who attend one have started going to the other session to have an extra night of training."
Phil added: "We welcome people of all abilities and age groups from eight years of age upwards.
"Many of the seniors who attend are shift workers and so can't make it all the time, but we are flexible in our sessions.
"And ju-jitsu is not something you forget easily.
"I think it's a case of come and try it. Although it is quite physical, you don't have to be big and butch.
"We also teach useful self-defence skills for everyone along the way."
The Ju-Jitsu sessions are held on Monday evenings between 8pm and 9.30pm.
