HIGH-FLYING Preston will be out for revenge on Saturday when Gillingham are the visitors to fortress Deepdale.

And after suffering a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of the Gills last December, North End will want to bolster their play-off place prospects and extend their recent run of good form.

The mood of the Preston camp remains upbeat and quietly confident about Saturday's game.

And after a few days in the south of France, the players are now back in hard training and looking forward to their first competitive match for nearly two weeks.

But on-loan striker Richard Cresswell, who netted a superb goal in Preston's last home match against Wolves, sounded out a note of caution, when he spoke on the club's website about Saturday's home clash against his former club.

He said: "I think it will be a difficult game against Gillingham. We have to give them the respect that they've rightly earned.

"They got a good result against us earlier this season and I think we'll be out for a bit of revenge."

As yet there are no confirmed injuries to any first team players, which could mean all three strikers featuring in Saturday's game.

However, boss David Moyes will be keeping his fingers crossed over the fitness of Northern Ireland's David Healy and Colin Murdock who have played two World Cup qualifiers over the last few days.

David Moyes again pleaded with fans to "pump up the volume"for the rest of Preston's home games, starting with Gillingham on Saturday.

NEW signing Derek Collins, brought from Hibernian on transfer deadline day, made his debut for PNE Reserves against Huddersfield on Tuesday. The only player to leave Deepdale was defender Gary Parkinson who was sold to Blackpool for an undisclosed fee.
