A CLOCK face designed by Preston North End (pictured right) was going under a 'virtual hammer' on Friday, March 31 in aid of the UK's Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Famous faces including Victoria Beckham, Damien Hurst and Jamie Oliver have joined top North West football teams in designing a clock face to support the 'MS Famous Faces' campaign.
More than 170 clocks went on-line on Yahoo! UK and Ireland from Tuesday March 20 until today.
Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the MS Society of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The MS Society is the country's major funder of research in to the neurological disease which strikes 50 people in the UK every week -- usually around the prime of life when career and family responsibilities are at their most demanding.
Symptoms vary considerably, affecting movement, sight, speech and continence and, as yet, there is no cure for this unpredictable and devastating disease.
Peter Cardy, chief executive of the MS Society of Great Britain and Northern Ireland said: "We are thrilled to be working with Yahoo! and this is a unique way to raise funds and a fantastic opportunity to reach a huge audience via the internet."
Lindsay Biggart, brand manager for Yahoo! UK and Ireland, added: "We are delighted to be involved in such a worthwhile cause.
"We are hoping that through Yahoo! Auctions and its huge audience, we will be able to maximise awareness and therefore contribute to the prevention of Multiple Sclerosis."
