COMMUNITY arts across Wigan and Leigh have hit the jackpot with a £12,000 grant from the Regional Arts Lottery Programme.
Arts organisations across the North West are celebrating after the announcement that £766,767 from lottery funding has been allocated to 12 projects in the region.
Angela Chappell, arts development officer for Wigan, masterminded the bid for the lottery grant which will fund a year long programme of workshops and celebratory events.
The lottery programme aims to improve access, education, investment and development in the arts, together with a commitment to bring contemporary art to the region.
