JAMES and Gladys Goodwin are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary with a family get-together.
The couple, of Browning Street, in Hoddlesden, will be joined by family and friends for a special lunch.
James, 79, and Gladys, 71, married at St Joseph's Church, in Bolton Road, Darwen after their eyes met across the dance floor at the former Tony's Ballroom, in Blackburn.
James worked as a caretaker at the former Bottom Moorland High School, in Darwen, and Gladys worked as a weaver in the town.
They have one daughter, Sheila Egan, who is married to Jimmy, two grandchildren, Mark and Kate, and one grandaughter, Chloe, four.
