A POLICEMAN was injured at the end of a high speed motorcycle chase which resulted in a 20 year-old man being arrested.
The police motorcyclist, who has not been named, was injured in a collision as the chase, which began in Bolton on Tuesday night and involved several officers, ended in Butts Street, Leigh.
Chief Inspector Ken Dickson, second in command at Leigh, said the patrolman was back in work the following day.
He said: "He was slightly hurt suffering knee, shoulder and groin injuries."
A man has been charged with aggravated vehicle taking, driving while disqualified and without insurance. Kyle Lovell, of Warrington Road, Leigh appeared on Tuesday before Leigh magistrates and was released on bail to appear before Wigan magistrates on May 23.
