PRESTON striker David Healy is a doubt for the visit of Gillingham tomorrow after suffering an ankle injury on international duty midweek.

The 21-year-old was part of the Northern Ireland side which lost 4-3 to Bulgaria and despite scoring, Healy also suffered a knock.

"We'll have to assess him nearer the time," said manager David Moyes, who was delighted defender Colin Murdock came through unscathed in the same game.

"We are hoping David will be okay and will continue in the same form.

"He is only 21-years-old and I know Northern Ireland boss Sammy McIlroy thinks he will be their top scorer, which shows what Sammy thinks about him.

"It is harder to score on the international scene, but he is a great at international level to go along with his great club record," added Moyes.

Healy has found the back of the net seven times for North End since his £1.5m move from Manchester United at the end of December.

Meanwhile, despite a run of one defeat in their last nine games which has pushed them back into promotion contentions, Moyes will not discuss the play-offs.

"It's something I don't want to talk about," said the boss.

The Gills have been something of a bogey team for North End over the last few seasons. They knocked Preston out of the Second Division play-offs two seasons ago and inflicted the biggest defeat this season on North End -- beating them 4-0 at the Priestfield Stadium.

But Moyes says the players are nicely rested after four days in the Mediterranean. "We are looking forward to it, especially as we are at home and we are hoping to continue where we left off.

"Gillingham are always a tough side to face. They have always been strong, started under Tony Pulis, Peter Taylor built on it and now onto Andy Hessenthaler. They are a strong group of players and we have to be prepared for it."
