LEAFLETS will be dropping through the letterboxes of every home in Pendle as residents are asked to vote on the kind of council system they want for the 21st century.
Modernisation of local government means the council could be run by a leader and cabinet -- based on current political parties -- or an elected mayor with either cabinet or council manager.
Coun Neil Akrigg, chairman of the council's political structures working group, which has been studying the issue, says he and other Labour leaders are urging people to vote for the leader and cabinet system, recently adopted by neighbours Burnley.
