AS Andy Cole did in mid-week, so Ian Moore can do for Burnley tomorrow.

With the pressure growing by the minute Cole showed his pedigree by finally ending his England goal drought with a last-gasp strike in Albania.

The scrutiny of Moore hasn't been quite so intense but any striker needs goals -- particularly when they come with record price tag.

And the derby clash at Ewood Park gives Moore the perfect stage to end his barren spell in the most emphatic way possible for a Burnley player.

"With strikers it can be a nightmare when you are looking to get that goal. But you just have to stay positive.

"The chances will come and I will put away more than I will miss.

"The thing is not to get carried away with it and to stay positive.

"That's my way of thinking.

"And if I could get the goal in that game it will change everything," said Burnley's million-pound man -- whose last goal helped sink runaway leaders Fulham but who admits he has been below par in recent times.

"The manager told me about it and gave me a bit of a kick up the backside. In the away games we've had I didn't really play well but I thought I did okay against QPR last week," he added.

Moore was disappointed not to complete Burnley's 2-1 win but he had shown enough to suggest that he's coming back to form in partnership with Gareth Taylor.

And saving his legs for 20 minutes should make the former Stockport man even sharper going into the showdown with promotion-chasing Blackburn.

Moore has played at Ewood already this season, losing out to an injury-time winner from Craig Hignett before making his big-money switch to Turf Moor.

However, he saw enough to believe that the Clarets can get some joy from exploiting the spaces behind Rovers' back four.

And Moore, who scored the first of his three Claret goals in a derby clash at Preston, believes there's no reason why Burnley can't claim their first local scalp of the season.

He added: "Against Preston earlier in the season they were probably the better team on the day but if we had scored first against Blackburn we might have done something there.

"Hopefully it will go our way tomorrow and if we get the first goal, who knows ?

"We have nothing to lose. They are the team with the pressure on them at the moment.

"They are in the top three and they have to keep on winning to stay in the promotion frame.

"We have got nothing to lose so the lads should go there with real confidence."

Blackburn's visit to Burnley in December coincided with only Moore's third start in a claret and blue shirt but it didn't take him long to get to grips with the enormity of the occasion.

"I couldn't believe the last game," he admitted.

"The atmosphere was unbelievable. I've never played in a game like that.

"It was excellent and I would have thought the game tomorrow will be similar.

"With a full house and a local derby game like that if you can't get yourself motivated for that you can't get yourself motivated for anything.

"After they won at Burnley earlier in the season it would be nice to get back even.

"It would be excellent if we do win there and I think if we did it would be a great night for the whole town."
