A GAS company today apologised once again for sending gas bills to a householder who doesn't even have a gas appliance in his home.

Craig Dolan first complained to Eastern Gas about the mystery bills last year when he received demands for hundreds of pounds -- even though his home in Crompton Place, Blackburn, doesn't have a gas appliance that works and has had the supply cut off.

But he thought the problem had been resolved earlier this year when the Lancashire Evening Telegraph intervened and the company gave him their apologies.

That was until this week when he received yet another gas bill -- this time for £114.57.

Mr Dolan, who rents the house with his wife Sharon Smith and their three children, said: "They promised another bill would not be sent out and now they have sent this."

"We had a call shortly after the incident, they came round and told us there was no gas and updated their records.

"They said staff had not done their job properly and that it should not have happened.

"They said there would be an investigation but obviously all this has fallen on deaf ears and it has all started again now.

"They do not take any notice. I never get to speak to a manager, so what's the point?"

Christian Judge, press officer for Eastern Energy, said: "No-one in customer services can give me a reasonable explanation.

"The bill will be torn up and they will send an apology in writing.

"It should not have happened.

"If he gets the name of a manager in the letter then if he gets any more bills he can go straight to the top."
