THE 10th anniversary of the death of Poll Tax should remind fair-minded people of how extreme the Conservatives were the last time they were in power.
The Poll Tax was the most unfair and inequitable system of taxation devised since the Middle Ages.
It was a tax on families and an insult to basic decency.
We should not forget about the Poll Tax because the same people who brought it in are in charge of today's Conservative Party., Shadow Chancellor, was the minister for local government who brought in the Poll Tax in 1988.
John Redwood was the man who dreamt the idea up as head of the Downing Street Policy Unit. William Hague and Ann Widdecombe were enthusastic supporters as Tory MPs.
Ten years on, the Tories never change!
