A WOMAN was more than three times the drink drive limit as she travelled home from work.

Blackburn magistrates heard that Judith Holden had been amazed by the reading, because she claimed she had not had a drink since the previous day.

Holden, 56, of Constable Avenue, Rosehill, Burnley, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol.

She was ordered to do 80 hours community service, pay £65 costs and disqualified from driving for three years.

Holden, who gave a reading of 119 against the legal limit of 35, agreed to be referred to the drink drivers rehabilitation programme which, if completed successfully, could reduce her ban by up to 25 per cent.

Eddie Harrison, prosecuting, said Holden was stopped in Bolton Road, Darwen, at 5.05pm.

Ian Huggan, defending Holden, said she accepted that she had been drinking the day before she was stopped, but had not had a drink that day.
