POTENTIAL volunteers keen to work with young people can take part in a free course organised by Blackburn with Darwen Borough's Youth Service.
Running from April to May, the training which is suitable for those with little or no experience, will involve participants in a range of learning opportunities designed to improve their skills and knowledge.
The course will be based at Groundwork, Nova Scotia Wharf, Bolton Road and will offer modules looking at volunteering, communication skills, values, group work, ideas and a variety of other expertise.
Learning is promised to be creative and fun and those involved will also be encouraged to work alongside youth workers on a short placement.
The pilot course is being funded by European Social Fund and the Single Regeneration Budget. Anyone keen to take part can obtain details from Bernie Gardiner, Training and Resource Unit, Manxman Road, Blackburn, on 01254 694643.
