COLNE 2 OLDHAM 2 THIS crunch basement battle ended all-square -- a result to cheer neither side, who are both struggling at the wrong end of NWCL Division Two.
Colne picked up their first point in 15 attempts but despite stopping the rot the result still added up to a bitter disappointment.
Visiting Oldham had lost all but two of their previous 23 NWCL Second Division outings, taking just four points from a possible 69 and conceding 93 goals in the process.
So this was a match Colne simply had to win and they very nearly ended up losing!
It took a goal from Adey Moran just three minutes from time to spare the home blushes and secure a point.
Mark Wykes had given Oldham the lead on nine minutes only for the reliable Lee Coleridge to square things up soon after.
But Wykes' second goal of the afternoon four minutes into the second half looked to have booked a rare win for Oldham until Moran popped up with an equaliser.
