SCHOOLS in Pendle are set to take part in a major clean-up as part of a national project launched this week.
The Just Bin It campaign aims to treat the problem of unsightly litter on the streets and has been launched by the Tidy Britain Group. Pendle Pride estimates it costs £450,000 in Pendle alone.
The Pendle Pride Initiative is organising Pendle's Just Bin It activities and has planned a series of clean-ups with local schools over the coming month.
Pendle Pride is also running an Inter School Dash 4 Trash competition for secondary schools in the borough where schools will have one hour to collect as much rubbish off their school grounds as possible.
