EVERYTHING is now in place for what promises to be spectacular ice hockey game at tonight's ten-year anniversary fixture at Blackburn Arena.

"Everything has come together very well, not just the players giving up time to come back to Lancashire for the game, but also the response of the supporters. This event really seems to have caught their imagination," says co-organiser Mike Cockayne, the former Hawks' boss.

Right from the fans from the early days of the Blackhawks to the recent converts, it seems to be in everybody's mind to be there on the night to see so many of their favourite ex-players.

Although the fortunes of the arena side have fluctuated over the decade, Cockayne is equally proud that the Hawks team remains solidly in place in senior hockey.

"It's been such a decade of change within the sport, new clubs have emerged but so many are no longer in existence or have followed the same path as Blackburn, now playing at a financially viable level."

"We will have a few surprises tonight, not necessarily players who have been integral in Blackburn's history but have made huge contributions to the sport itself in recent years."

Ice hockey legend Steve Moria is sure of a hero's reception when he makes an emotional return to the Blackburn Arena tonight.

The one-time Hawks ace is heading up the ice-hockey extravaganza. Super Steve, a former Great Britain captain currently with the Cardiff Devils, is undoubtedly the single biggest attraction for the showpiece fixture.

Joining him for a night of nostalgia will be the likes of Jon Cotton, Simon Ferry, Jeff Daniels and Lee Cowmeadow and many many more stars from past decade.

Oleg Finkov, Ryan Kummu, Mike Flood, Kevin Freckleton, Tom Diceman, Brad Penner and Darren Durdle will have special edition game shirts produced in their honour.

The game faces off at eight o' clock and player introductions to the ice will commence at 7:45. Admission is just £5 per person, with proceeds from the night going to the NSPCC.
