The David Dunn column
SO this is it. After nine months of blood, sweat and tears, this time next week our destiny could be decided.
Will it be the Premiership or the play-offs? It's in our hands to decide.
Regardless of what happens at Barnsley tonight, tomorrow's game against Portsmouth is a massive game for everyone connected with Blackburn Rovers.
A lot has been written over the last few weeks about us suffering from an attack of the jitters but I don't think we've looked nervous at all.
I can't speak for the rest of the lads, but tomorrow can't come soon enough for me.
We've worked our socks off to get ourselves into this position and, now we're in sight of the finishing line, I want to finish the job as quickly as possible.
I just hope Barnsley can do us a favour at Oakwell because that would then give us the chance to clinch it in front of our own fans at Ewood.
If they don't, then we have to be prepared for two tough games against Preston and Gillingham.
But, whatever happens, I'm just desperate to get us back into the Premiership for two reasons -- Jack Walker and Peter White.
I don't think you could ever find two bigger supporters of Blackburn Rovers if you tried.
After all the money and effort Jack put into making this club what it is today, we owe it to him to put Rovers back on the footballing map. And I can't let this weekend go by without sparing a thought for Pete, too.
If we do go up, then you can bet your bottom dollar that those will be looking down on us from above, their chests puffed out with pride.
I know the lads were all touched to hear that Pete's memory will live on through the new goal of the season award.
I thought I'd nearly come up with a late entry against Wolves last week only to be foiled by their keeper.
It's a good job I made up for it with that 'screamer' against Grimsby on Tuesday night instead.
That took my tally to 17 for the season and I've still not given up on 20!
Speaking of the Grimsby game, the manager allowed us a rare treat afterwards in the form of a stop off at the chippy.
And, no before you ask, I didn't have kipper and chips!
That reminds me, Messers Flitcroft and Short better watch their backs during the next week or so.
I've now come up with the perfect plan to get my revenge and it's even bigger and better than that jumbo battered cod Flitty demolished on Tuesday night.
