YOUNG adults aged 18-25 from Catholic churches in East Lancashire will be notified soon about the next World Youth Day event with Pope John Paul II.
The Salford Diocesan Youth Service will be working alongside other diocese throughout the country to involve young adults in a 13 day visit to Toronto, Canada, where the event will take place next summer. Those taking part will be involved in a programme of events before and during their visit and while in Canada will stay with other young adults and their families.
Diocesan youth officer Bob Beardsworth, based at Mount Carmel High School in Accrington is one of the organisers and has led groups to the Philippines, France and Italy in the past. He said: "They will get the opportunity to meet young Catholics and take part in international celebrations with others from around the world." Churches in the East Lancashire part of the Salford Diocese wanting details should contact Bob Beardsworth on 01254 395650.
