BLACKBURN Cathedral's first musical production starts on Monday for a three night run.
The production of Jesus Christ Superstar is the directing debut of Julia Frost, a Youth Ministry volunteer working for the education board, and has a young cast of students from Blackpool and the Fylde College an other Blackpool schools.
Julia's preparation work began last November when she recruited Lisa Johnson, set designer, Kate Radcliffe, costume designer and Kathy Jenkins, choreographer. Then the cast, aged between 11 and 22, began rehearsing at the beginning of March.
Julia said: "The students are all absolutely fantastic and really do give it their all."
The show stars Liam Lenaghan (Jesus), Nina Beirne (Mary), Peredur Abalan (Judas), and Alan Alexander (Pontius Pilot) portraying the last few weeks of Jesus' life from the last super to his crucifixion.
Tickets are still available for the shows on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 7pm by calling Julia on 07970 966147 or by paying on the door.
Adult admission £3, concessions £2.
