AS you reported (LET, May 17), I proposed that Hyndburn should change its name to Hyndburn Valley to make it more interesting to tourists.
I also asked for all tourist information to be headed: "Hyndburn Valley -- Home to Accrington Stanley."
Two of your correspondents object to the name Accrington for reasons of their own. If they had read the article correctly, they might have noticed that I used the name "Accrington Stanley" to tell tourists where "Hyndburn Valley" was, not to change back to "Accrington."
One of the responses was from a man from Great Harwood who tells people he is from "near Blackburn."
If that is so, why not start a campaign to merge Harwood with Blackburn.
Then, they could be known as Blackburn with Darwen and District -- if he doesn't like the name "Accrington."
