POLICE are renewing their appeal for witnesses following a serious sex attack in Bank Hall Park, Burnley, on Thursday.
Det Sgt Peter Simm said: "We now believe that the girl has met this lad near to a tunnel or bridge on a path in Thompson Park but that the actual incident took place in a copse of trees in Bank Hall Park.
"The two locations are a five minute walk from each other and throughout this journey she was under threat from this man.
"She is 4ft 8ins tall and was wearing a bright orange fleece. She is 17 years old but looks a lot younger."
Her attacker is described as Asian, in his late teens to early 20s, 5ft to 5ft 6ins, with straight black hair and wearing traditional white Asian clothing. The attack took place at 3.30pm on Thursday.
