THE Blackburn company which manufactures the plastic cones that keep Britain's motorways accident-free has won its own safety award.
Plastics blow moulding specialists Weltonhurst is one of only 10 companies in the country to win the new Health and Safety accreditation, 18001.
Based at the Roman Road Industrial Estate, Weltonhurst employs 120 people, manufacturing a range of plastic products that includes traffic cones, road barriers, garden furniture, child seats and toys.
Managing director Paul Burrows received the certificate from Steve Palmer, executive director of the Lancashire Learning and Skills Council.
