VISITORS to the Rolls-Royce exhibit at the Paris Air Show will be able to see at first hand the contribution made by the 1,000 workers at the aerospace group's Barnoldswick site.
The company has produced a mock-up of an engine which will enable visitors to experience a journey through a gas turbine engine.
Small groups will enter the exhibit where they will be able to see engine components such as the turbofan blades manufactured in Lancashire.
They will also go through a unique audio-visual experience, using a combination of actual film and computer simulations, that explains graphically how a jet engine works.
People will be given an idea of what happens to the air that is sucked through the intake, squeezed progressively smaller through compression stages, then burned in the combustion chamber before passing through the turbine and exhaust at high speed.
