RESIDENTS are being given the chance to air their views on the council's provision of mental health services for older people.
They will be able to state their opinions at a consultation day on the subject at Wigan's Investment Centre on June 19, when Wigan Council's social services department's officers will update participants on the latest developments in both local and national services.
Deputy director Gerald Meehan said: "We hope that everyone with an interest in the services we provide for older people who have problems connected with mental health will come and spend some time with us.
"There will be important information available for health professionals, and even more importantly for users and carers.
"We expect that we will learn more from participants than they may learn from us."
Help will be available for people with transport or caring difficulties. Contact Marjorie Webster or Sharan Naylor on 01942 828769.
